From my K-12 journey, I like many others have been so exposed to writing my work and notes by hand on paper. Even as schools began to incorporate newly released computers for students to begin adapting to recording notes through typing, it did not hold the same experience as it did with writing notes as most didn’t seem to hold the information compared to that of writing. Typing notes felt dreadful as it seemed repetitive and bland compared to the increased flexibility, we had with writing ourselves. We could sometimes even doodle to take the time off to further show our creative side and more of our own character.
I was fortunate enough to have been able to save up and purchase a tablet for note taking and this product brought both nostalgia and innovation to the table when it came to recording notes and lectures. Primarily the Goodnotes app and tablet pencil made working more convenient, efficient, and more fun to work compared to continuously typing and resharpening pens or changing the pen inks and constantly flipping papers. With the note taking application, I could switch to write new ideas or with a tap of a finger to use to go look up past notes. Hopefully schools take advantage of this innovation and enable students worldwide to incorporate such fantastic technology into their curriculum.
