Mid Autumn Festival

Mid Autumn Festival is tomorrow and I’m really excited for it! I’ve been eating a lot of mooncake recently since my parents sent me a box from home, so I hope to share some with friends tomorrow. When I was younger, my mom would light a paper lantern for me and hang it on a chopstick. That way, I could walk around my neighborhood, my lantern swinging with me under the full moon. Though I haven’t done that tradition for more than a decade now, I often think back and realize how much this holiday means to me.

Hot take – The mooncake with mixed nuts (五仁月饼) is better than the lotus or red bean paste ones.
