I have made it a goal for myself to read more this year, especially books by Asian American authors. Currently I am almost done with Crying in H Mart by Michelle Zauner. It is a memoir about her life and detailing her mother’s passing from pancreatic cancer. I thought this book was very powerful and relatable in the way that it explored how food and culture are intertwined. I think that Zauner’s vivid depictions of food and the experience of eating them will be very relatable for many Asian Americans. I would really recommend this book if you are looking for something to read!
