Things I’m Proud Of

This semester is definitely the busiest and most difficult one yet. I spend so much time in my day just stressing out about all the things I need to get done and about all the things that are coming in the near future. So, I would like to just take the time to think positively and to just reflect on things I’m proud of myself for doing lately.

  1. I’m proud of myself for smoothly transitioning back to campus after being home for almost a whole year. I adjusted to the pace of being in a city rather than being in a small town pretty well and I already feel like I’m at “home” here in Boston.
  2. I’m proud of myself for cooking for myself and very rarely buying food. I tend to spend so much money on buying food every week, so cooking for myself is really good for me. Things I’ve cooked so far include: Filipino Bistek (a beef stew), alfredo and pesto pasta with chicken, chorizo tacos.
  3. I’m proud of myself for planning an entire day retreat for one of the organizations I’m involved in. I’m the Internal Events Coordinator for Generate and usually they’ll rent out an AirBNB for a weekend and just bond there, but I had to tackle the planning for a virtual version of retreat. It took me quite a few hours, but with the help of my team I was able to put together a solid list of activities to last an entire day.
  4. I’m proud of myself for having so much patience with building my resume. Looking at my resume for hours and making such little changes to every little detail is exhausting. But, I finally have come to a point where I am proud of it. I spent so much time reading through job descriptions that I’m interested in and trying to identify keywords that I should include in my resume to fit into the experiences that I had, and I’m really excited to finally start applying to these jobs.
  5. I’m proud of myself for starting consistent workouts. On top of that, I’ve been waking up earlier to do those workouts! I’ve been waking up an hour before my first class to get in a workout and then just get a start to my day earlier. It feels really refreshing to not just roll out of bed straight to classes.

Doing this little reflection was really helpful for me. It gave me a break from all the stress in my mind and allowed me to just think about the good of all the things I’ve been doing lately.
