The MassArt Building is Ugly

I have a lovely view of the Boston landscape from my apartment windows. The MassArt building ruins that view though. It’s tall and orange with neon green highlights, and I’d be shocked if you said you’d never seen it before. I like the aesthetic of Boston. Primarily old New England-type buildings, made of stone not too tall and just an old-time feel. Not to say I don’t like more modern buildings, but I think there is a place for them in a landscape.

Other buildings in Boston have successfully been more modern without feeling out of place in the city. Adding a nice change of pace to the view, without disrupting the picture. Naturally, I enjoy seeing those buildings around as well, but the MassArt building just sticks out like a sore thumb. To some though, it may be a beautiful building, like the ones who designed it, but from the view of my living room, I could live without it.
