Everybody has different ways they deal with stress. Some people take comfort in going to the gym, others by taking a nap, or other activities like baking. I deal with stress by hugging my stuffed animal. My stuffed animal, a Pikachu Build-a-Bear I made with my boyfriend, definitely helps me to deal with stress during these times. Maybe it can be a childish thing to find comfort in a stuffed animal, but it is definitely what helps me. When I study in my room, I just have it on my lap, or when I watch a movie, I lay down with it. I personally think having at least one comforting stuffed animal is important to have – you can use it as another pillow, you can squeeze it when you’re stressed, if you’re a Nursing student like me you could practice skills on it, or even talk to it if you just need to vent. Overall, they can provide a lot of comfort and help to relieve stress. Everyone copes with things in their own way and might require some sort of buddy at all times. So for that, I am so glad to have my build-a-bear Pikachu, filled with the softest cotton, a cotton candy scent, his awesome accessories, and his sound effects coming from the little voice box in his paw.
