The Art of Patience

As many of you have heard, the last day of Summer move-in was yesterday and I was one of the people who finally moved into their new dorm and got a kitchen to use. As an incoming second year, it has been a long, long while since I have cooked for myself. And you know what was the funniest part, my first use of the kitchen was boiling water for ramen 🙂

I brought a friend over to eat ramen with, but they were insistent in using a special device where it was a mini multifunctional electric cooker that can make rice, noodles, and many more. So, they poured water into the cooker and waited for it to boil.

30 minutes has passed . . .

1 hour has passed . . .

1.5 hours has passed . . .

I had finished eating my ramen, but my friend was still boiling her water . . . I laugh and stare at the cooker expecting something to finally begin boiling. But, it ended up not boiling and she gave up, throws the ramen into the non-boiling water and eats it out of the crock. Truly, the patience was used up. Lesson learned: If you’re using a device and nothing happens within the past 30 minutes, something is definitely up.
