Summer Move-In Mayhem

The summer 1 semester here at Northeastern started last Monday, May 9, so why is it that we could not move into our summer housing until the weekend of the 14th. A lot of things about the recent housing have been a bit rough, from having to live in my old dorm on an insufficient meal plan because I was supposed to have a kitchen to having to move all my things into a building that doesn’t have a ramp to get into, this past week has been an exhausting one.

I didn’t really plan on using my required meal-plan, since my summer housing has a kitchen. That was until I found out that we didn’t move into our summer housing a week after classes started. It was a rough 7 days, but thanks to leftover fried rice from an AAC event, I could eat more than one meal a day. But then the fateful move-in weekend arrived, and I was all ready and packed. I crossed Huntington with my cart of things and was met by a small set of stairs and no ramp in sight when I got to my building. It was difficult at first having to make multiple trips to my cart (which I left on the sidewalk outside) and to my new apartment. On my second trip to bring the last bits of my stuff, some kins strangers helped me carry my cart up the stairs. Thanks to them moving the last of my stuff weren’t too difficult. What a start to the summer semester and I haven’t even complained about my classes yet.
