Restaurant Review: Cafe Luna

Last week I biked to Cambridge with my friend via Bluebikes (read my previous blog if you want to know how my experience was!) and we decided to take a detour for brunch. There are many well known brunch places in Cambridge and throughout Boston as well, and my friend and I decided to stop by this restaurant called Cafe Luna. It’s located on Main Street and it has a cozy/relaxing cafe atmosphere and offers a variety of sandwiches and salads along with other brunch items on their menu. Because this was kinda of importu as we didn’t really plan to grab brunch, we didn’t make a reservation beforehand. However, once we got there, we were told that our table would be ready in 20 minutes which was not bad at all. We decided to just walk around Cambridge during our 20 minute wait. Once we were seated, we were offered menus but were also told that we can scan a QR code to gain access to a copy of an online menu, which was what we did. In terms of COVID and social distancing guidelines, the tables were placed at a good distance. While there isn’t a limit to how many people can sit at a table, it wasn’t that big of a deal since most of the seats were outdoors.

When we were asked about what we wanted to drink, we were told that they now serve bottled water (which wasn’t free!) because of COVID. My friends and I all got different drinks. I got an iced tea with blood orange lemonade while my friends got an Americano and latte. My iced tea was really refreshing as it wasn’t too sweet or sour and it was perfect after a bike ride. Now for the actual meal portion, I ordered what’s called “The Kitchen Sink” which was basically a platter of different brunch items. You can get a choice of waffle, pancake, or french toast and you get to choose two brunch items and it comes with a side of eggs and either fries or fruits. I personally got a platter with a waffle with avocado and corn beef hash along with two eggs that’s over-easy and a side of fruits. My other friends all ordered different items and they all looked so good. It was a really filling meal and I would definitely come here again!
