My Challenges

As a freshman in college, there are a lot of things that you just don’t get the hang of right away. First I’d like to address the dorms. As much as I enjoy talking to and being around my roommate, there are times when I wish I could float back to my bed at home or walk into the bathroom without needing to worry about whether it will be clean. Living in a shared environment is without a doubt a timely adjustment for a lot of us freshmen.

As an introvert, another one of my challenges would be making friends. Coming into a new school with all different types of people makes me feel overwhelmed at times. I am truly grateful that I was able to meet so many new people, however making actual friends did not come as easy as I had hoped for. There are always the people I run into over and over again, and the people that I would say hi to as they walk past, but I still find it difficult to find new people to hang out with or have lunch together.
