First Time at Boda Borg!

This past Sunday, I got a chance to go to Boda Borg for the first time through a club I’m sort of part of. Boda Borg is a location in Malden where you experience questing in real life (basically escape room style except there are lots of them and are very short. I was hesitant about going because I would be with people I’ve never even met before, but I love escape rooms so I decided to go.

My first impression of Malden was that it’s a very nice city. It’s chill and it seems to have a lot of good restaurants. The best part about it is that there’s a Tous les Jours bakery basically right across the street from the T stop (I love bread and the bakery is Korean. I heard the cakes there are really good, but I think Korean cakes in general are superior).

I arrived at Boba Borg and once a staff member was ready, she gave us all wrist bands that had a color and a time on them. (This is how they announce that your time is up. You can either quest for 2 hours or 4). They also gave us locks to put away our stuff in lockers.

After hearing the instructions, we split up into groups and started questing. I didn’t realize that some rooms required physical activity so I really regretted wearing jeans that day. Also, my knees ended up getting bruised. But! The rooms were super fun and collaborative. The price is so worth it too if you’re comparing it to an escape room where it’s only one hour. I fell in love with this place quickly. I just love the system of Boda Borg to the point where I would be willing to work there. As a mechanical engineering major, I’m sure I can create my own room… (That’s stretching it though, I’m not that experienced..)

By the end of the two hours, my group was only able to get two stamps, which is apparently the normal amount for first-timers. In my head I was thinking, I HAVE to come here again. So. I asked my friends to have a bonding at Boda Borg. I’m so excited to go back.
