Down Time

Self-care is important. It’s said over and over again, beaten into our heads until we gently nod and agree. But it’s true. Inadvertently, I find the best self-care to be not caring. I enjoy the little moments, slowing down from school and slowing down until I become a couch potato, a vegetable if you will, and sit by myself and enjoy a show. Not caring about whatever responsibility I have the next day but just focusing on nothing. It’s important to slow down. Become a vegetable.
