Celebrating this Month

As many know, this month is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. During this month in the United States, we observed and recognize the contributions and influence of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of our country.

Everyone has different ways to celebrate this month. Some are creating art pieces for different art galleries representing Asian influences in art while some may take part in activism to spread awareness of the rising violent hate crimes in major cities like NYC.

Some like to celebrate our culture and go out and indulge in the various Asian cuisine offered in their city and support local businesses. Some of my friends and I are planning to take our non-Asian friends who never tried dim sum before to partake in this weekend brunch activity sometime during the weekend of this month and support the small businesses in Boston. Some places I recommend are Hei La Moon, Winsor Dim Sum Cafe, and Taiwan Cafe. These spots located in Boston’s Chinatown are a great way to sample Chinese cuisine with friends!
