Celebrating AAPI Heritage Month

During AAPI Heritage Month, I was fortunate to spend time with my family at home since I rarely have time to visit them when the semester begins. First, I played Mahjong, a tile-based game developed in the 19th century in China and has expanded throughout the world since the early 20th century, alongside my older brother and parents. Afterward, we had a hotpot with a myriad of ingredients that we bought from a Chinese supermarket located in North Quincy. Some ingredients included beef, taro, tofu, fish balls, quail eggs, mini sausages, lettuce, corn, carrots, crawfish, squid, and fish cakes. Aside from spending time with my family, I also watched the show, Fresh off the boat, at my friend’s house. AAPI Heritage Month has allowed me to bond with those closest to me. Hopefully, everyone is having a fantastic month and a wonderful summer!
