5 Days Away

This spring break, I had been looking forward to going to northern New Hampshire with some friends! Unfortunately, however, there were some unexpected circumstances, and two of our group had to drop out of the trip. Thus, super spontaneously, the remaining two of us decided to change up the plans and go down to Hartford, Connecticut instead!

We had no idea what to expect since neither of us had ever been to Hartford. To be honest, it didn’t seem to have that much to explore city-wise — we’re going to school in Boston, which is pretty hard to beat. However, my favorite part was the two days that we went out to some cabins that were a bit further out from the city, in the woods! It was a super cute and compact small cabin, and me and my partner just got to stay in and listen to the rain and trees outside, make dinner, and relax away from the city for a while.

The next few days, we also found a really cute and bustling food market in Hartford. It was full of diverse, delicious local food stalls, and we started going back at least once a day to try different foods from each one. Everyday, I still think about the Jamaican jerk chicken we had there the first day, and the Nashville hot chicken we had on the next. Food truly just can be so good, and in this case, I think it made up a large part of the trip!
