Silent Goodbyes

Her pearl black hair swayed against her kimono, to the rhythm of the bamboo trees, dancing with the wind. Warm moonlight shone through her opaque, porcelain skin, revealing her lonely soul. A tear streamed down her cheek as the moon children descended from the sky, ready to take her home.

Dinner Time

She awoke in the dark, her pillow damp from tears. Light streamed into her room from the living room, creating a path to the door. The comforting aroma of spaghetti and meatballs nudged her off her bed, into the living room. Finally, she faced her mother and murmured, “I’m sorry.”

Innocence

The scent of white gardenias and pink lily’s engulfed him; his wife’s favorites. Heat welled up in his eyes, but he kept his sorrow trapped inside of him. Little fingers pulled at the seams of his black tux, and a pair of doe-eyes asked in innocent wonder, “Where’s mommy?”
