What It’s Like Living Alone

Ever since I returned to campus in mid-January, I’ve been alone in my apartment. My roommate has been home ever since winter break and he since he’s on co-op he’s not really concerned about where he’s living. While it has been kind of lonely and quite with no one else in the apartment, I actually enjoy having the freedom of doing whatever I want without worrying about the possibly of bothering someone else and on top of that, I enjoy spending time by myself. When you’re living with someone, you must be more cognizant of your actions and be more considerate whenever you’re doing something. While I have had my fair share of bad roommate experiences, my current roommate and I get along pretty well. We’re both know our boundaries, but we still know when to joke around and spend quality time together.

In the past month, I found myself cooking and that’s not something I would usually do when I do have roommate around. Because we share a kitchen together, I usually find myself whipping up whatever that takes the least amount of time to make, just some I don’t inconvenience others around me. However, I have been able to explore new recipes and perfecting old ones that I’ve tried before, and I can’t wait to share them with my roommate once he comes back!
