i’ve recently been watching random interviews on youtube. not that this one is random but those random interviews did lead me to actually watch this one. This interview is called “kwento juan” which means “average story”. the word “juan” is a general name for an average person in the Philippines, like “john doe”. okay. anyways, one of their guests was sb19 (listen to their music btw) and their leader, pablo, said something about the moon. he said something like, “i have this fascination with the moon. even though it’s just borrowing light from the sun, it does it’s job well. you don’t have to be great to do meaningful things. just do what you can do. what matters is that you are trying. laban lang (keep fighting)”.

so, why am i talking about this. i had this conversation with a friend. we were talking about insecurities and how it contributed to our upbringing and things like “not being able to live up to our potential” came up. that conversation kind of just reminded me of that interview. i wanted to share it because that’s the quote or i guess mentality that i want to keep at the back of my head for this year and for years to come whenever i feel like i couldn’t do something or feel like i’m not enough for this or that.

now, every time i get the chance to see the moon, it just reminds me that i am enough (cheesy but true). it takes SO much weight off my shoulders. all we can really do is strive to be better. most of the time, the wall that keeps us from getting to where we need to be is just us. so having that mindset i think is very important to keep going. everyone has their own pace so just take it one day at a time : )

if you guys wanna watch the interview, https://youtu.be/KImfUamwOHc :))) (very very inspiring)
