Are you team coffee or tea? For me, there is no debate. I grew up in a traditional Chinese household where we take this very seriously. In fact, we had an herbal cabinet packed with emergency bags of loose-leaf jasmine, oolong, black, and even red tea. They were all imported straight from the ancestral land. Yep, I am a tea guy. Like many other cultured Asians, I have a boba tea addiction along with a rewards membership card to places like Ten Ren. Despite all of this, I cannot stand one tea variation – Earl Grey. It is nauseating and otherworldly gross in my opinion. Earl Grey is one of those things where you either love it or hate it; it is an acquired taste that I lack. I am a simple, borderline basic when it comes to tea. My go-to order is just a #1 at Tiger Sugar, but if I am feeling very daring, I go for a passion fruit or lemon green tea. At the end of the day, it’s all personal preference, but I will still judge you if you order Earl Grey :).
