Spring Break in LA

I recently went back home to Los Angeles for spring break and I got to experience the cuisine that I missed so much while I was in Boston. If you guys are looking for some recommendations for Korean food, here are some that I enjoyed throughout the break:

  • Hangari Kalguksu – Knife-cut noodles! My mom said they make and cut the noodles themselves which is why it’s much more chewy than other restaurants. If you get the chicken kalguksu, they add in a whole small chicken into your bowl. It does get busy though so it’s best to go at a time where it’s a bit too late for lunch but too early for dinner.
  • Gaju Gimbap – Located inside the Gaju market, it’s a small Korean restaurant that serves lots of dishes. My personal favorite is the tuna kimbap and the janchi guksu which translate to banquet noodles. It’s wheat flour noodles in a light broth, served with many toppings. It’s always busy but it’s so worth it!
  • Witch’s Chicken — Also located inside a market, this Korean fried chicken place is a go-to if you’re grocery shopping and want to pick up something for dinner. My family usually gets the soy garlic flavor chicken and it’s so crispy and flavorful. We recently tried the spicy K-BBQ flavor and it’s definitely…spicy. If you’re good with spice, you should definitely check it out.

That’s all I have for now! There’s so many places I still have to check out despite living there for so many years.
