Snowfall

The first snowfall hit Tennessee on Monday. It was very unusual for that to happen in the South, especially in late November. But the bright white flakes glistened in the mid-morning daylight as they fall during my thermodynamics class. The feeling of winter grows stronger as December hits and I cannot wait for it to go full swing.

Cold mornings give me nostalgia, despite the fact that I live in a somewhat warm environment for the majority of my life. With the two fluffy blankets and 10 pillows that shrouded my bed, the breezy cold that whiffed through the crevices of my door could not penetrate the warmth that I felt. Well, until I got up obviously. Then I got cold!

I would usually grab my big fluffy blanket and cover myself as I walk around my house. I turn on the kettle to boil water and make Vietnamese coffee for that nice morning kick of energy and warmth. I turn on some tapping ASMR because I like calm and soft noises in the mornings and helps me relax as I prepare for the winter days.

I may be biased because I was born in the heart of winter, but I enjoy this season with all of my heart. The coziness of the indoors protecting the harsh and fierce cold of the outdoors gives me a calm vibe. Winter is all about calmness and I am here for it. After an eventful year, everyone should take the time to calm themselves and have a little downtime for their personal use. Have a happy holiday and may 2021 be blessed with things that 2020 did not have.
