It still feels surreal to me that I’ve already completed my freshman year of college. It seems like just yesterday I was going through the college application process. And now, here I am, having turned 19 just a week ago and embarking on my sophomore year of college. September has been quite an adventure for me. Even the little things, like moving into my dorm and having my own kitchen for the first time, have been incredibly exciting. Grocery shopping has been eye-opening too; I never realized how expensive it could be, and it’s really putting a dent in my wallet.
On top of that, I had the opportunity to try CorePower Yoga for the first time with a friend, and it has been an amazing experience. Biking to the CorePower classes and even venturing out into the city on the Bluebike for the first time have been personal milestones. These might seem like small things, but they’ve given me a sense of accomplishment as I explore new and different experiences. Last September also marked my first month serving on the e-board for the badminton team, and it has been a fun learning curve, getting to know how everything operates and collaborating with both team members and fellow e-board members.
Most importantly, this month, I had the incredible privilege of seeing one of my favorite artists, Jungkook, perform live for free. I’ve always loved concerts and have attended many over the years, but this one stands out as the best I’ve ever been to. The nostalgia of hearing him perform BTS songs took me back to some cherished memories from my middle school days when I first started listening to BTS.
Lastly, the last day of September was also my 19th birthday. I celebrated by indulging in a hotpot dinner and attending a Hojeans concert. I had a busy day with badminton practice and even had brunch with a friend from Bentley who came to visit. It was a simple yet thrilling day for me, spent with close friends, and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to ring in my 19th year.
