Time is such a strange concept. Being in a pandemic has made this concept even more enigmatic but I digress, my freshman year has been one of the most special times of my life. From a young age, I’ve always been fascinated with the world beyond my hometown but never had the opportunity to travel or explore an area for a prolonged time. Though I didn’t pick Northeastern based off of it’s location, I’m infinitely appreciative of the bonus that we are located in Boston. Here, I get to channel my ~main character city girl~ vibes and take advantage of the plethora of fun things to do.
From the first day I arrived on campus, I felt like I had entered a bee hive full of buzzing college students. I had the unique experience of becoming friends with some amazing people pretty quickly but I attribute that to pure luck, or dare I say, fate. I was fortunate to be placed on a floor where all my neighbors were really friendly and welcoming— I can’t even begin to imagine how different my life would be if I was placed even just one floor above! So thank you Residential Services!
Academics wise, my year had a bumpy beginning due to the realization that I did not like my major. After a day of contemplating my life path, I made a somewhat snap decision to change my major. At this point in time, I greatly thank “September 2020” me for making the right choice!
Lastly, the thing that I’m most proud of doing in the past year is “adulting”. Though I’ve technically been an adult for a bit now, I didn’t actually feel like one until I was fully on my own and relying on myself to run errands, go to work, and make life decisions.
Now all we have to do is make it through finals!! We’ve got this, good luck everybody!
