Recap: AAC Intern Event: Jopping Night Part 2

Another day, another jop. As part of my second AAC event, I decided to make things a little more competitive by adding a prize, and what better prize is there than boba? So Ming and I came up with the idea for a guessing game: where people who came had to really know the names of the songs and artists in order to win. There were three rounds to the game: the first playing five seconds of the chorus, the second playing three seconds of the intro and the third playing one second of anywhere in the song. Getting the song title and artist was worth 1 point, 2 points and 3 points each depending on the round. The players were able to buzz in by typing in the key word that I would change after every song such as “butterfly.”

Around 20 people showed up, many of whom, I didn’t really know prior, which I was excited about. I was really surprised throughout the night as everyone seemed to know most of the songs, and I was wondering if I needed to make the game harder in the future. The stars of the night were definitely the three winners, as they were able to completely dominate the competition. The first place winner even scored 100+ points overall, which I did not think was possible. The competition was definitely fierce, however, I could see some people getting slightly discouraged, so I may change things up a little so that everyone gets a better chance of winning.

Hopefully, everyone enjoyed the experience overall and had fun with some friendly rivalry. It was definitely meant to be more of a destressor than a stressor!! Afterwards, we continued to watch some music videos together and relax. Picture of us goofing off below 🙂
