Patriots Day Weekend

This weekend I went to Buffalo for a four-day trip. Before I went, I had a pretty bland impression of Buffalo. In Buffalo, I went to the Lake Eerie botanical garden. It was downtown in a quiet area and it was very empty. It was $12.50 for student tickets and very worth it. It was a really nice day and all the flowers bloomed so everything was very pretty. There were many different exhibitions with a room for Asian plants, a sunroom with cactuses, a koi pond with a small bridge, a stone arch leading into more flowers, and a tropical plant room. In Buffalo, I also went to a pub downtown to try some Buffalo wings. The wings were cooked perfectly with the perfect amount of Buffalo sauce. I got a side of mozzarella sticks and it was my first time having mozzarella sticks, so there isn’t really anything I can compare it to. But I thought it was really yummy, as the shell was very crispy and the cheese tasted fresh and warm. The dipping sauce for the mozzarella sticks was one of my favorite things as it was really hot and almost better than the mozzarella sticks themselves. After lunch, we drove to the Dairy queen. I really wanted to try Dairy Queen, because there isn’t any in Boston or the city. At Dairy Queen, I got a medium-sized royal New York cheesecake blizzard topped with graham crackers and strawberries. I wish I never got it because I know I won’t be able to have it for a really long time. Overall, I enjoyed my stay in Buffalo, it was a nice weekend in a cold Upstate New York suburb.
