Officially Declared

I have officially declared my major. No longer am I just an Explore student learning about different majors. Changing my mind each week is a thing of the past and I finally declared.

I have always been indecisive, so it was no shock that I came into college undeclared. Always having a lot of interests, the thought of declaring one to study and pursue for the rest of my life felt like a tall task. Since I feel that I should pursue something that makes me happy, it took three semesters of CS courses to realize I liked coding. It helps that I was able to find a link to just about everything I like in my life to CS. Gaming, sports, and so on all have aspects that need computer science. I think it was drawing that connection and realizing I could go into any field I want that made me finally decide.

Then why am I a CS and business combined major? That’s because although I love computer science, I am still very indecisive, and I like to keep my options open. Business, specifically marketing analytics which I think I will concentrate on, can be connected to many aspects of life and coding. So why not pursue as many options as I can in college so that when I truly must face the real world I will be as prepared as possible? Also, the process to declare was super easy, I just filled out a google form.
