Recently, Albert- the Associate Director here at the Asian American Center- recently asked all of us, “if we were given an elephant that we couldn’t sell or give away, what would you do with it?”
My favorite animal is the elephant, so I’d love to have a real life elephant. In a perfect world, I would treat the elephant like a princess: give her a whole pond to chill in, give her an elephant friend to hang out with so it doesn’t get lonely, and feed her all the food elephants like, such as fruits, roots, and shrubs.
However, that’s not real life. IRL, I probably would allow people to ride the elephant and visit for money. I probably would reach out on LinkedIn to an animal care specialists and have them help me raise her, so that I don’t mistreat her because obviously I wouldn’t know how to care for a big elephant. In the end, the elephant and I would be best friends, business partners, and she would probably outlive me. I would also name her Ellie…self-explanatory.
