Mango Float Recipe :))

Ever since classes started, I have been cooking with my friends almost every day. So far, the mango float that I make with Jasmin and Emi has been our favorite recipe.

Mango Float is a Filipino dessert that’s made up of layers of graham crackers, whipped cream, and mangos. It’s really easy to make and tastes so good!

You’re going to need:

  • 2 large ripe mangos
  • 4 cups of heavy cream
  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt
  • 21 graham crackers (plus more to crush as a topping)

(I was able to get all of these ingredients except the mangos at Wollastons lol)

First, peel the mangos. Afterwards, cut most of the mangos into small cubes and then the rest into thin slices.

Next, we’ll make the whipped cream. Add 2 cups of heavy cream to a large bowl and use an electric hand mixer to beat on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form. That should take about 3-5 minutes. Then add the rest of the heavy cream and beat again until stiff peaks form, which is another 3-5 minutes.

The next step would be to add half of the condensed milk to the bowl and beat until it’s fully incorporated. Then add the remaining condensed milk, vanilla, and salt and beat until stiff peaks form (around 4-7 minutes). Once that happens, stir it with a rubber spatula

Now we can start assembling the mango float!

Line a 7 x 11 inch dish with parchment paper. Then, cover the bottom of the dish with a layer of graham crackers. The next layer would be the whipped cream. You should put about 2-3 cups of the mixture into the layer and spread it evenly. Make sure to cover all the graham crackers and fill it to each edge.

Then, add the cubed mangoes on top of the whipped cream layer. Keep repeating this process until you reach the top. After your last whipped cream layer, put the sliced mangos on top. You can also crush some graham crackers and sprinkle it on top too.

All you have to do now is put some plastic wrap on top and place it in the freezer overnight. But sometimes we just leave it in the freezer for a couple hours and then eat it because we’re too impatient :))

I hope you guys try it out and enjoy !!
