LGBTQ in Everything Everywhere All at Once

This popular movie starring a primarily Asian cast resonated with a lot of children from Asian households. What drove the storyline was a daughter trying to gain the acceptance of her mother. Sexuality that errs from being “straight” is commonly dismissed in Asian households because our parents aren’t familiar with it in their culture. Although there are many other side plots, entering the “metaverse” helped the mother and daughter learn to express themselves. Long story short, it was about acknowledging your identity and being grateful for what you have. My friends enjoyed the movie since it really hit home. One of my friends even started calling his mom after the movie. I thought the movie was quite interesting. It was a very relatable depiction, but I was confused most of the time. If you watched it, you’ll understand why.Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022) - IMDb
