Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow

We all know about the huge snowstorm this upcoming weekend, and while I do say, “let it snow,” I am also definitely planning on staying inside for the entire day, cozied up with some hot chocolate and movies.

Don’t get me wrong, I love snow. Having grown up in Boston, I always looked forward to snow days cancelling school and playing outside with my friends and family for hours on end. Fresh snow is always so gorgeous, especially at night when you can see it sparkling and gradually lighting up the streets as it piles onto the ground.

But I’ve also found many, many reasons why I should stay inside during snowstorms, and just admire its beauty through the window. One of them is the moment you step outside, your face is immediately hit with this harsh, piercing feeling of the cold. Your ears start going numb and red and they even start to hurt a bit. When the storm is up, the snow starts changing from soft, white, and fluffy to hard, discolored, and crunchy. And don’t even get me started on black ice. I’m glad to say that I’ve never fallen, but I’ve definitely come close to it. Nothing beats that sinking feeling you get when you think you’re in the clear, but suddenly what looked like a sidewalk was actually slippery ice.

All in all, I’m excited to take a day to myself and snuggle up in bed with the heat turned all the way up, watching movies and letting myself relax as I watch the snow build outside.
