This weekend, I went to Kaliente’s dance workshop for beginners! Kaliente is Northeastern’s only Latin dance group. In the workshop, they taught basic bachata, salsa, and merengue. A friend of mine found out about the workshop through Kaliente’s Instagram, @nukaliente, and she convinced me and another friend to go. We had a lot of fun and the environment was so welcoming. I didn’t know a lot about these styles of dancing, but this workshop was so beginner-friendly! I hope they host more workshops like this, and everyone that was on the team was so open and welcoming—I definitely recommend checking them out if you haven’t.
