In another life

In another life

We only get one life… or at least this is what I am aware of. 80 ish something years give or take on this Earth. Seems like a long time when you’re growing up but if you’re like me you start having existential crises when you’re 13 and life gets real. Fast forward a few years to when I am 21. When thinking about life doesn’t get me in such a melancholy state. Thinking about life is pretty fun actually. So many things that I want to do in life and suddenly that 80 something years doesn’t seem too long. It feels short. Too short like I have all these plans and experiences that I want to experience but I am limited to one life.

In another life, I want to work on a farm. When everything I do is for my survival and the survival of the animals in my care. I want to wake up to the rooster crowing to milk some cows and get some eggs from the coop. Make some breakfast and then start my day. I don’t want to stress about what I want to be when I grow up or make money. In another life, I would like to spend the rest of my days taking care of what I built.

In another life, I want to drop out of college and move to another country like Spain or something. Take all my savings and live in a small apartment when there is only enough space for a bathroom, kitchen, and bed. I want to work a job along the lines of a waiter at a restaurant or an occupation where I get to meet and talk to people. In another life, I don’t want to worry about the current degenerating state of our government and dying planet.

In another life … maybe time period, I want to live as a nomad. Constantly on the move following herds of animals. I want to be immersed in nature to the point where it is my home. I don’t want to think about how much time I have left in this life. All that I am focused on is living. This is a life that I want to live.
