iCarly Reboot!

For many of you that grew up in the 2000s, the Nickelodeon show iCarly may bring back many memories. Personally, the show was one of my favorite late-night binges, and although I was excited to hear about the reboot, I was skeptical about it as well. Most reboots don’t par up the any original ever in the history of television and in many cases, it can ruin the show for me, but as a huge fan of the original show, it turned out a lot better than I had expected. Most of it was a recap of the last 10 years of their lives after the show, and new characters were introduced, but this was no surprise, since it has been 9 years since the show last aired. Many of us that watched the original series are all around or a little older than the characters now and I loved that lot of themes were very relatable to growing up & adulthood. In the first 3 episodes, it somehow captured the same vibe as the original show despite the characters being more mature, while also adding new concepts into it. The show is still the same corny, hilarious sitcom but comes along with a dose of nostalgia as well. In a way, it felt like I was taking a trip down memory lane seeing how well the old characters like Carly, Spencer, Freddie, and even Nora fell back into their caricatures after all this time! Although Jennette McCurdy’s (Sam) absence (for valid reasons) was definitely a letdown, the show did not disappoint, and I am excited to see where they take the show! 10/10 would recommend 🙂
