On the daily, I try to find inspiration in having fun with my assignments somehow. For the podcast I made for journalism, I listened to a lot of music when choosing a backing track. I settled on one that I like, and it was fun to explore. I think putting together a good playlist is also a great way to relax and destress. I also try to schedule fun events after a long day of classes and studying. I love when it’s a nice day out, too; that gives me energy to get through things. It’s a bit sad when I can’t be outside because I need to be inside studying.
I’m pretty satisfied when I accomplish something, so having a goal to complete can also motivate me. In a way, I like deadlines for doing that, but it’s not so enjoyable if I know the work will take a long time. It’s a lot worse if I’ve got multiple heavy assignments.
I took my algo midterm this morning, which is a big weight off of my shoulders. Next, I will finish the systems lab by 10pm today and also write a 1500 word essay on automobility by tomorrow night 😆. I’ve got a paper due Tuesday too but luckily I’m nearly done with that. These could be magic tricks, really. It’s been another tough week with plenty of assignments but I think next week will be better!
