If I had an elephant that I couldn’t sell or give away, I would make sure to treat it right! Elephants are very cool critters with amazing memories, and I feel like this would be a really good opportunity to educate others about them and raise awareness about poaching. Once people see and connect with animals in person, they are more likely to advocate for them. I’ve heard about elephants that can paint and perform other activities like that. So I would want the elephant to be as comfortable as possible and live a good, fulfilling life. Hopefully if I can get a good sized enclosure for it, and maybe eventually get them a life-long companion. I would let the elephant “work” by showing others how cool they are and in return hopefully make enough money to treat them like royalty.
