Creation at Steast

If you’re anything like me, you’re stuck with the school’s meal plan. However, it doesn’t always have to be bad! I have learned to make the best of it, and realized one creation I have made for a while actually has a real name and is indeed a real thing.

When I am at Steast and I’m ready for a sweet treat, one thing I’ll do is grab some ice cream, put it in one of the paper cups, and then go to the coffee machines and pour some hot coffee over it. The coffee then begins to cream a little bit since it is mixed with the ice cream and causes it to melt. This creation is called Affogato, and is an Italian dessert! It doesn’t have a coffee taste at all, and adds a rich flavor to the vanilla ice cream. This is definitely a great dessert to make if you ever want to switch it up and make something different in the dining hall.

All you need to do is get a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and add a bit of hot coffee (or as much as you’d like!) and let it slowly melt the ice cream.
