Back to Basics

I am back! With the start of the fall semester, it is also the potential start to my last year in college. As such, here are some details about me that I may or may not have shared in my past posts.

1. What is your name?

Kevin Hu

2. What is your year in college?

I am a fourth year studying business administration for supply chain management.

3. Where is your hometown?

Maryland — Crabs!

4. What are some highlights of summer that you would like to share?

I spent my summer working at my co-op, but when I had time, I went to every store in the area to find the alusive Starbuck’s botted pink drink. Every store I went to only had the paradise drink, fortunately, I finally found it in a Walmart.

5. Why did you apply to be an AAC Intern?

I have been working at the center for three years. Being able to regularly be in a space to learn about the Asian experience while also helping out faculty and students is a great resume boost. Moreover, as an intern you get a lot of access to resources and opportunities to meet people in Northeastern.

Now, here is the reboot of my weekly blogs until I graduate!

I stopped by the Levain Bakery on Newbury street one day to try their cookies. They are known for their chocolate chip walnut cookies, but have many other options ranging from dark chocolate cookies to brioche.

The cookies lived up to the various articles I read, gooey and large (6 ounces!). The cookies were not tooth achingly sweet, but one cookie is definitely a meal. I would highly recommend trying these cookies at least once. However, if you want to try it at home, there is also a good copycat recipe that I have tried prior to having an actual Levain cookie. Moreover, making it at home means you can manage the size. Though reducing the size as noted by the bakery, means not having that gooey chocolatey center.
