This morning I woke up earlier than I usually do for my 8:00 Biology Project Lab class. I had set my alarm for 7:00 but hit snooze until about 7:35. I painstakingly got up after watching a few Tiktok videos and made my way to the bathroom to begin my day. After brushing my teeth, I made my way back to my bedroom to make my bed. Although it wasn’t something I usually did last year, I thought maybe it would be good to get in the habit of doing it this year.
Today was one of those mornings where I just could not stay awake, after making my bed, I promptly then laid on top of it and fell back asleep. Luckily, my body was conditioned and I woke up at 7:55, just in time for class.
My Biology Project Lab class is online and usually takes 3 precious hours to finish: today was no different. Though my brain waves felt like they were short-circuiting, I tried my best to participate in the discussions we had and make myself a valuable member of my group.
After class, I decided to pick up a package at ResMail containing a new hair mask I wanted and a drying lotion for my skin. I then went to Curry Student Center to grab a salad and Wollaston’s to buy more cheese for my dorm. If there’s one thing that roommates and I can’t live without, it’s cheese. After a little break, I then logged onto Zoom once more to my Co-op class.
My professor discussed a few ways to stand out during a Co-op interview and made sure to emphasize the fact that everyone is still very early in the process of getting a Co-op so I shouldn’t worry too much. I couldn’t help but feel pangs of anxiety, though, as classmates started to talk about their own interview experiences.
After my second and final class of the day, I started working on some homework that was due soon such as my lab report for Organic Chemistry. I then had to take a break from that for a quick meeting with my AAC team, which was a nice little conversation.
I continued to work on some other homework assignments until I had to meet up with my Chinese Student Association “Smalls” for dinner at 5:40. We decided to go to Happy Lamb hotpot in Chinatown since neither of them had really explored different Asian cuisines since coming to Boston. I was really excited to see them for the first time in person, and it surprised me that they were both pretty tall.
We enjoyed a deliciously spicy meal and then went to RoyalTea for bubble tea since we wanted something sweet for dessert. I ended up getting a Strawberry slush with cheese foam which was super palatable and I highly recommend. We then had to hop on the T back to campus so that I could work on a group project that was due in two days.
My group and I worked from about 9:00 to 11:00, making different experimental procedures, and utilizing different research methods. I then took a shower, caught up with my roommates, and began writing this blog post.
