A Brief Post-Second-Dose Update

So, turns out the second-dose of the Pfizer vaccine did affect me negatively. Haha. Do I regret getting it? Of course not! I’m so glad I did. But unfortunately, I did catch a cold from it. My suspicion is that my (already weak) immune system had gotten even more weak and so I was able to easily catch some germs into my system over the weekend and that was enough to get me sick. Here’s a timeline of the symptoms I’ve been feeling ever since I got the second-dose:

  • Thursday (day of vaccination): nothing besides a mild headache in the afternoon
  • Friday: very sore and mildly swollen arm and headache around the same time as the day before (it soon went away)
  • Saturday: mildly sore arm and mild headache in the afternoon that passed quickly
  • Sunday: extreme fatigue and mild headache into the night time
  • Monday: a sore throat, headache, and congestion
  • Tuesday: dry cough and headache
  • Wednesday: dry cough
  • Thursday: dry cough
  • Friday: dry cough (but more intense)

As you can see, I’ve been showing signs of a cold (and have gotten tested several times so I know it’s not Covid) so hopefully it passes quickly. I haven’t taken any medication because I don’t want it to mess with my antibody production. Plus, my signs and symptoms haven’t been unbearable. Cough medicine has also NOT been recommended if you’ve gotten vaccinated as well. A cold in comparison to be unvaccinated is 100% worth it. I have an extremely weak immune system anyways so do not be alarmed by my experience. It was inevitably going to happen. And now that the general public will be allowed to get vaccinated within a matter of days, be sure to get yours!
