2020 vs 2021

It’s crazy how last year all classes were held virtually. I remember walking to Cabot on a random day of October to get COVID tested. The leaves were just as vibrant, but it was a lot colder. Centennial was empty and it felt quite surreal how vacant and lonely campus felt. As much as COVID-19 has affected so many people negatively, I actually enjoyed and had so many great memories being stuck in my small apartment in West Village B with my three roommates. I’ve gotten so close to my three roommates because we spent so much time in our apartment. One of my favorite memories in college was making a Thanksgiving feast with my friends. We made so much food including scalloped potatoes, crispy brussels sprouts salad, mac and cheese, apple cobbler, and even roasted our own turkey. I ate so much food that day that I’ve never felt more physically uncomfortable. Regardless, I had such a great time and made the most out of all the restrictions. I also remember it snowed on October 30th in 2020 and thought how absurd it was, considering how nice the weather has been recently. 2020 has truly been an interesting year and it’s fun comparing it to what we now call new normalcy.
