winter break

This winter break, I travelled to Vietnam and Korea with my family. After a stressful semester, I was excited to go on vacation and be able to relax.

In Vietnam, the weather was really warm, so it was really nice to go to the pool and drink cocktails at the pool bar. My family was really excited to get massages in Vietnam, but I was really scared because I’m really ticklish. Even though I was scared, I didn’t want to miss out on the experience, so I went. It was a little unbearable at first, but I got used to it after a while. Everything in Vietnam was fun, but I think the best part about being there was getting my nails done for $10.

In Korea, I got to meet with my elementary school friends who I hadn’t seen in years, so it was really fun to catch up with them after so long. Before going to Korea, I had wanted to get a nose piercing for a long time, so I finally worked up the courage to get it done. It hurt a little bit, but I’m glad I did it. For Christmas Eve, I got to see my extended family in Korea for the first time, and they were all fascinated by the Americans who could speak Korean.

Winter break felt like 6 months and it wasn’t as restful as I expected it to be, but I had a lot of fun!
