September Recap

As the weather starts to cool down and the leaves start turning color, I’m just starting to realize that we are now in October. September passed by seemingly in the blink of an eye, but it felt like I would never finish what I needed to get done during that month.

I remember the very beginning of September being a time to settle back into the flow of returning to school and getting situated with my living situation. I made far too many grocery trips to get food as I would be mainly cooking this year.

Then classes began and before I knew it, assignments started piling up. It started to sink in that this semester’s courseload was going to be heavier than last’s. In addition, there was the whole co-op search to start. Refining resume, searching through NUworks, applying to my first co-ops. It felt overwhelming at times, but thankfully, everything is starting to fall into place and into more of a predictable pattern now.

On top of this, I was going to work, coming to AAC shifts, and showing up to club meetings while fulfilling my position’s duties. These too, were work, but felt less like work because I got to work with people and engage in activties that were either fulfilling or engaging.

September in one word for me was busy. What characterizes it though are all the moments that made up that month. Grocery trips that were oddly relaxing other than seeing the amount I would end up spending. Studying at the Boston Public Library on a sunny afternoon. Staying up into the morning writing cover letters. Catching up with friends over lunch and dinner. Seeing the finished puzzle at AAC on 109 Hemenway! It was stressful at times, enjoyable others, but productive overall.
