“You will die but the words you speak or spoke will live forever.”
- Auliq Ice
For some reason, ever since high school, I have been using quotes so much. In every essay and application that I write, I try to incorporate at least one quote. Sometimes when I feel fancy and good, I will add two: one at the beginning and one at the end. But, most of the time, I find that one is more than sufficient. For me, it is a great way to encapsulate the whole piece of writing in just a few words. Also, just finding a quote that puts together what I am trying to achieve is so satisfying for me.
When trying to look for a quote, I stay away from the well-known for one main reason. Those quotes I find to be overused, and because it shows what kind of a person you are to do research and find a quote that captures the same message but from a different perspective.
Some of my most-used quotes:
“ If people are doubting how far you can go, go so far that you can’t hear them anymore.”
- Michele Ruiz
“We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid.”
- Benjamin Franklin
“Learn everything. Fill your mind with knowledge—it’s the only kind of power no one can take away from you.”
- Min Jin Lee, Pachinko
“Anyone who stops learning is old, whether twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.”
- Henry Ford
