North End Bakeries

The North End of Boston, with its charming streets and rich Italian heritage, is a haven for food enthusiasts. Among its many culinary treasures, the local bakeries stand out as hidden gems.

Bova’s: A Hidden Treasure (10/10)

Review:
Bova’s, a lesser-known gem in the North End, has perfected the art of the Lobster Tail. If you have a taste for this delectable pastry, a visit to Bova’s is an absolute must. What sets this bakery apart is its convenience – they accept both cash and card, making life easier for patrons. In addition, Bova’s prides itself on its speedy service, ensuring you won’t wait long for your sweet treat.

Mike’s Pastry: A Timeless Classic (8/10)

Review:
Mike’s Pastry is a North End institution, beloved by locals and tourists alike. The allure of Mike’s lies in its extensive selection of cannoli, with the mint-flavored option being a delightful surprise. However, the sheer variety of desserts available can be overwhelming for those with a penchant for decision-making.

Modern Pastry: A Mixed Experience (6/10)

Review:
While Modern Pastry has its merits, my experience was a bit mixed. The Lobster Tail here is undoubtedly enormous, which could be seen as a plus. However, its sheer size made it a bit challenging to eat gracefully. The real drawback was the sweetness of the cream filling, which may not be to everyone’s liking.
