If I was given the choice to meet any anime character, I would choose to meet Rock Lee from the Naruto anime series. I used to rock the same bowl cut that Rock Lee had when I was younger, but that wasn’t the core reason why I chose him for this blog post. Knowing Rock Lee’s past being untalented at ninjutsu, watching him as a kid truly inspired me through his work ethic and his pathway to learning taijutsu (hand-to-hand combat in Naruto). Though he was mocked by his peers for his lack of talent, Rock Lee persevered and worked hard with his passionate personality, surprising many viewers in the episode where he fought against Gaara. Although Naruto, the main character shares a similar story of being untalented and being mocked by his peers, I chose Rock Lee because he started from nothing as a side character to one of the greatest taijutsu users while Naruto learned how to unlock/control his hidden overpowered abilities. I hope to carry on Rock Lee’s passion and work ethic in my own life and persevere through any hardships in the future.
