I have always been a big fan of Sports, learning about the different types and watching people play, but I was never good at following leagues or teams, nor did I choose favorites. Coming to Northeastern has made me into a major hockey fan. I had always liked hockey, but it was not as big a sport where I am from. This all changed last weekend when I went to the Northeastern Women’s and Men’s Hockey games.
It was my first time going to a hockey game in person, but now I’m hooked. The arena felt electric and being part of the doghouse is an indescribable feeling. Cheering for good plays, yelling at the opponent’s goalie, and singing “Stacy’s Mom” are all iconic parts of a Northeastern hockey game. What’s even better than being surrounded by Northeastern students in the Doghouse, is being in the Doghouse when the Huskies score. The pep band will start playing and the entire section breaks out into the “HEY SONG” for a minute and a half (I timed it). Hockey is a big thing here at Northeastern and I’m so excited to experience this season. Go Huskies! (I will probably be going to all the home games)
