Family traditions

In Korea, Lunar New Year is one of the biggest holidays of the year and it’s called “Seollal”. People do saebae and wear hanbok, but in my household, my parents don’t really enforce these traditions outside of church. Whenever it comes to this time of year, they go to church and you can always see the little kids bowing to elders after service in hopes of getting an envelop of money. My family is honestly very different when it comes to religious beliefs though so me and my brother often stay home instead, so we end up missing out on a lot. However, my mom always makes us ddukguk for lunch during these types of holidays because that’s what she grew up eating when she was younger.
