It’s almost about to be a new year, and I’m already half way through my sophomore year. Approaching the brink of a new year, I can’t help but take stock of the milestones and experiences that have shaped my time at Northeastern. It’s a juncture that prompts reflection, gratitude, and a sense of accomplishment.
One significant aspect of this academic year has been the continuous process of acclimating to life at Northeastern. Establishing comfort within the academic environment and campus dynamics has been a gradual but rewarding journey. Navigating the intricacies of college life has allowed me to cultivate a sense of belonging, transforming this educational institution into a second home.
A standout highlight of the year has been my involvement with the badminton team. Joining the team last year to now, has not only contributed to my physical well-being but has also served as a platform for forging connections and building a supportive community. I think I’ve become a lot closer to the team overall compared to last year as I’m now more involved as Co-President of the team. Not only that, but I think I’ve become more comfortable in opening up with my teammates in sharing my ideas and experiences overall.
As the year comes to a close, I’m also extremely happy to secure my first co-op position. This marks an important step in translating academic learning into real-world experiences. The prospect of applying classroom knowledge in a professional setting is both exhilarating and a testament to the academic progress made thus far.
The experiences of the past semester serve as a foundation for the chapters yet to unfold. The challenges and triumphs, the friendships formed, and the lessons learned all contribute to a holistic college experience that extends beyond the academic realm.
