Cumberland’s Hidden Gem

To commemorate the beginning of spooky season, my friends and I headed down to Rhode Island for the day. We hopped on a 50-minute train ride to the South Attleboro, MA and got picked up by my boyfriend, Noah. He drove us to our destination for the day: Adams Farm in Cumberland, RI. Once we got to the place, we showed them our e-tickets, received our yellow wristbands, and set off to explore all the festivities that the farm had to offer. We bought the $15 (with a $1.53 fee) “Mega-admission” ticket, which included access to the mega-maze, pumpkin patch, animal feeding zoo, and hayride. In order to control the crowd due to Covid, we had a two-hour window that we could spend on the farm (which was more than enough time).

Here are my reviews of all the activities they had on the farm:

Animal Feeding Zoo (7/10)

I loved this place- mainly because they had so many cows. Along the fences were little dispensers full of corn and for just 25 cents, you can feed a handful of corn kernels to an adorable cow. Be sure to bring hand wipes because their tongues are DIRTY. Besides these, there were random chickens and donkeys walking around.

Hayride (9/10)

This quick but scenic ride to the mega maze was super fun! They tried their best to social distance everyone on the wagon and thus, the line to actually get on the ride was a little long. Luckily, they had a bunch of hayrides going at the same time so the wait wasn’t too bad! Besides the dust from the dirt road hitting your face, it was a fun time.

Mega maze (8/10)

Mega Maze

The hayride dropped us off at a gigantic corn maze surrounded by beautiful fall foliage. The corn was beginning to die but that didn’t ruin the experience nonetheless. We weren’t too sure of where the exit was or if there was designated one at all (there was) so we ended up walking around the perimeter of the maze while enjoying the view. This maze probably took around 30 minutes total!

Pumpkin patch (7/10)

The pumpkin patch was a lot smaller than how they advertised it to be but either way, they had great pumpkins! The price of each pumpkin depended on its weight (65 cents per lb). Noah and I’s pumpkin (scarecrow) came out to be around $13- and it was pretty large. Alex and Ray’s pumpkin (weird face) was about $7.50 and it was just a little smaller than ours.

If you’re looking for a cute day trip down to Rhode Island and need some fall festivities to do, definitely visit Adams Farm in Cumberland!
