AAHM

Asian American Heritage Month

Every year, Northeastern hosts Asian American Heritage Month (AAHM) with the goals of building community, raising awareness for APIDA issues all while celebrating our history, culture, and impact in the United States.

While Asian American Heritage Month is traditionally celebrated in May, Northeastern celebrates in January to give our community an opportunity to fully participate in and enjoy the month of events.

We are excited to announce the theme of AAHM 2024: Roots of Resilience!

This theme recognizes the resilience and strength of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities in the face of historical and contemporary challenges, such as racism, discrimination, and political marginalization.

It celebrates the unique cultural traditions and values that have helped these communities persevere and thrive.

As a community, we will reframe AAPI narratives and explore the importance of each cultures’ stories and values to our individual and community identity.

Join us in celebrating our differences and building new legacies together this month!
